Judicial Proceedings Committee
Brian has chaired the Judicial Proceedings Committee since 2003. The committee has jurisdiction over such issues as criminal law, commercial code, real property, family law, trusts and estates, judicial administration and court structure, juvenile justice, the legal profession, public safety, constitutional amendments, motor vehicle laws, landlord tenant laws and legal rights and immunities.
Executive Nominations Committee
All gubernatorial appointments are referred to the Executive Nominations Committee. After public hearings, the committee makes recommendations to the full Senate as to whether each nominee should receive confirmation.
Legislative Policy Committee
The Legislative Policy Committee is comprised of the leadership of the Senate and the House of Delegates. it coordinates and supervises the work of the General Assembly when it is not in session.
Chesapeake Bay Commission
Comprised of state legislators, state cabinet secretaries, and citizen representatives from Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, the Chesapeake Bay Commission advises the Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania general assemblies in joint management of the Chesapeake Bay. The Commission has advanced many significant initiatives related to fisheries management, land use, natural resource protection and toxics reduction. Senator Frosh has been a member of the Commission since 1995 and served as its Chair in 2001.
