Democratic candidates for Maryland's attorney general to face off in two debates

BALTIMORE (AP) - The three candidates vying for the Democratic nomination in the race for Maryland's attorney general have agreed to face each other in two debates.

The campaigns for Delegates Aisha Braveboy and Jon Cardin and state Sen. Brian Frosh announced Monday that the candidates will participate in debates that follow a "traditional format" in College Park and Baltimore.

The first will be held May 19 at the University of Maryland College Park and the second will be held June 9 at the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The candidates have participated in forums around the state, but the campaigns say these will be the only campaign-organized and state party-supervised debates before the June 24 primary.

Corporate lawyer Jeffrey Pritzker is the sole Republican candidate in the race.
