NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION GROUP, THE BRADY CAMPAIGN, ENDORSES BRIAN FROSH FOR MARYLAND ATTORNEY GENERAL

Washington, D.C. - Today, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence endorsed State Senator Brian Frosh for Maryland Attorney General.

“State Senator Brian Frosh is an unequivocal leader in Maryland on the issue of gun violence prevention.   His leadership in Maryland led to passage of the landmark gun reform law, the Maryland Firearms Safety Act of 2013,that increases oversight of gun dealers, requires reporting of lost and stolen guns and significantly strengthens the background check system in Maryland to keep guns away from criminals,” said Sarah Brady, Chair, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

“We are proud to endorse Senator Frosh for Attorney General of Maryland.  There is no better advocate for public safety for Maryland,” added Brady.

The Brady Campaign works to create a safer America through policy, legal action, and public health and safety programs that aim to dramatically reduce the number of gun deaths and injuries.

“The Brady organization is the most esteemed gun violence prevention group in America. I was proud to work with them when Maryland passed the bill I wrote to make our gun laws among the toughest in America – tough on assault weapons, tough on domestic abusers, tough on criminals. I will be proud to work with them as attorney general, and continue to stand up to the powerful gun lobby when we make our state gun laws the toughest in the nation by licensing all firearm owners, by punishing illegal gun ownership and gun trafficking, by making our background check system airtight, said Frosh upon hearing of the endorsement.
