Democratic Attorney General Candidate Brian Frosh Leads Primary Field with Most Cash on Hand

Momentum for Frosh’s candidacy for Maryland Attorney General grows statewide as he shows strong fundraising numbers from broad network of donors.

Annapolis, MD- Today, Maryland Attorney General candidate Brian Frosh filed with $864,142 cash on hand with the Maryland State Board of Elections, leading the primary field with significantly more cash on hand than his primary opponents. During the course of this campaign, the Frosh campaign has deposited over a million dollars raising $1,123,500 in total, significantly outraising his Democratic primary opponents. In the past six weeks alone, over 900 donors have contributed to the Frosh campaign.

Momentum for Frosh’s candidacy continues to build statewide. He has received more key endorsements than any other statewide candidate from organizations including police, sheriffs and prosecutors throughout the state, Maryland & District of Columbia AFL-CIO, MSEA (Maryland State Educators Association), Maryland League of Conservation Voters, Casa in Action, CAPAD (Coalition of Asian Pacific American Democrats), Maryland NOW (National Organization for Women) PAC and Equality Maryland.

“I’m truly grateful for the financial support I have received over these past few months. We are well positioned to win the June primary and the general election in November,” said Frosh.

Earlier this month, The Washington Post endorsed Frosh stating that he “has the political savvy, command of policy and stature to be a superb attorney general.”  Frosh has also received hundreds of individual endorsements from Democratic leaders across Maryland, including, Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-8), Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett, Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker and States Attorney Angela Alsobrooks, a super majority of the Maryland Senate including all Baltimore City Senators, former Maryland governors Parris Glendening and Harry Hughes and former Maryland attorneys general Steve Sachs and J. Joseph Curran.
